We are launching our first heavyweight tee drop in three weeks. Can you help me build a launch plan?

Assistant:

Happily. Three weeks is tight but workable if we split it into three phases.

  • Week 1: lock the product page, photography and pricing.
  • Week 2: warm the list with two teasers and open early access.
  • Week 3: drop day, with a staffed inbox and a restock rule decided in advance.

What is the size of your email list, and is there a fixed run quantity?

About 4,200 subscribers. The first run is 300 units across two colors. I attached the mockups and our current plan.

Assistant:

Thanks, both mockups read well. With 300 units and a list that size, scarcity is real: expect most of the run to go in the first day.

Two things I would change in the plan. Move early access to 48 hours before the public drop so loyal subscribers feel looked after, and cap each order at two units to keep the run spread across more people.

Good call on the cap. How should we price it? Cost per unit lands at $17 delivered.

Assistant:

At $17 landed, $48 gives you roughly a 65 percent margin before fees and leaves room for a free-shipping threshold. $54 would still sell through at this list size, but it narrows the audience for a first release.

My suggestion is $48, with the second color at the same price so the choice stays about taste, not money.

Fine, $48. Draft the two teaser emails for me. Keep them short and a little dry.

Assistant:

Teaser one, sent nine days out:

Subject: Something heavy is coming

One shirt. Two colors. Three hundred of them. More soon.

Teaser two, sent two days before early access:

Subject: Early access opens Thursday

You are on the list, so you go first. Forty-eight hours before everyone else, one link, a limit of two per person.

Love those. What should we have ready for drop day itself?

Assistant:

Four things.

  • A sold-out state on the product page with a waitlist form, built before the drop, not during it.
  • One person on the inbox for the first four hours.
  • A pre-written message for the moment the first color sells out.
  • A decision on restocks, made now: either a fixed second run, or none at all and say so.

I can turn this into a checklist with owners and times if that helps.
